Mahesh Bhatt's film Sadak was released in 1991. Everyone saw the love story of Ravi (Sanjay Dutt) and Pooja (Pooja Bhatt). Now 29 years later, Sadak 2 has been released. Ravi's character in the film is still kept the same, just like Arya (Alia), Vishal (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and some more characters have been added. This time the emphasis has been on blind faith or superstition in the film.
The whole story revolves around this issue. Gyan Prakash (Makarand Deshpande) is a Baba who tells people that he can talk to God. Now the same has been put in Arya's mind that God was wanting her mother's death. She was suffering from cancer. But Aryan of modern era is not ready to believe that her mother left her goodbye just like that. He realizes that his mother has died due to this Baba.
Where did Mahesh Bhatt made the mistake ?
The specialty of Mahesh Bhatt has always been that some emotion in his films definitely comes out. But while making Sadak 2, Mahesh Bhatt himself seems to be confused about which genre he wants to put this film in. In this simple story, he has also added suspense, has also put emotion, has given a lot of action and has even tried to give some message in many places.But unfortunately it was a bad decision to put so many aspects in one film. There is a scatter in the story of Sadak 2. Many characters, many shed in the story but all completely directionless. Alia-Sanjay and Aditya's car will continue on the road, but you will be left behind somewhere.
